Much has happened between Los Angeles band Local Native?s critically-acclaimed, self-funded Best New Music debut album, Gorilla Manor, (2010) and the imminent release of their second album Hummingbird. Gorilla Manor (2010) launched the band onto the global stage, saw them headlining theatres throughout America and Europe, opening for bands like Arcade Fire and The National, winning them lauded slots at major festivals around the world, and selling over 100,000 albums in the U.S. alone. They are now getting set to release their sophomore album, entitled Hummingbird, in Jan 2013 and Frenchkiss Records on January 29th, 2013. The first song to be released, a hazy dose of pop splendor called ?Breakers,? is available to stream now via Pitchfork.
